Multiple Configurations Provide Maximum Flexibility
The basic system contains 4 serial ports, 1 parallel port, 2 USB ports, 10/100Mbps ethernet, and watchdog timer. The built-in panel I/O board provides industry-standard connectors for all I/O and mounts directly to the front panel of the enclosure without requiring any cables.
For a soft-PLC / industrial controller application, select the data acquisition model with all the above features plus 16 analog inputs, 4 analog outputs, and 24 digital I/O. Our Universal Driver software provides support for all I/O features, including watchdog timer and interrupts, for DOS, Windows 95/98/NT, and Linux.
A choice of case sizes is also available. The 1.7" case has room for the CPU, panel board, and user-supplied notebook hard drive. The 3.0" case has enough space for all of these features plus up to 2 additional PC/104 expansion boards of your choice. If you need still more boards, we also provide a 4" case with room for 4 expansion boards, or we can provide a custom-length enclosure that exactly meets your needs.
Convenient Built-In Features Simplify Expansion
Take advantage of the panel board's built-in VGA passthrough connector to add video capability to your system easily by installing a VGA card on the stack inside the enclosure.
The front panel includes two input power connectors: The convenient circular jack let you use an AC wall adapter (included) in a lab or factory application. Or take advantage of the latching DB9 input power jack by installing our Jupiter-MM vehicle power supply in the case, and use the CPR-Z32 on a vehicle or in an outdoor application with an input power supply anywhere from 7-30VDC.
You can also easily add a notebook hard drive inside the case. Our
ACC-HDDMOUNT accessory board lets you mount the hard drive directly onto
the PC/104 board stack while maintaining safe clearance from the rear panel.
Advanced Design Means Convenient Assembly
The CPR-Z32 comes in kit form and is easily assembled in just 10 minutes. No cables are required for the base system. Simply assemble the CPU and panel board together using the hardware kit provided. If necessary you can add an IBM Travelstar notebook hard drive to the board stack by mounting it directly on the board stack using the HDDMount accessory board included. The entire board assembly then mounts to the front panel of the case with 4 mounting screws and 14 screwlocks on the Dsub connectors, forming a tight, rigid assembly.
A 5V / 3A AC/DC wall adapter is also included so you can get up and running quickly.
The CPR-Z32 provides a convenient, compact, cost-effective, yet extremely flexible platform for your embedded PC application.
