The PNL-Z32 panel I/O board provides a unique cable-free means of enabling access to all the I/O on the Prometheus CPU. This board plugs directly onto the top of the CPU board and connects to the system I/O, USB, Ethernet, Data Acquisition, and Power connectors. The Pandora enclosure and panel board provide a neat compact package for the development system that eliminates lab bench clutter and improves portability. The enclosure has room for the CPU, the panel board, the video board, and one more optional PC/104 board. You can also install a notebook hard drive inside the enclosure. A 32MB FlashDisk module is included with the development kit. It provides 32MB of solid state memory that looks like a C drive to any operating system. See here for more detail on the FlashDisk module.

The development kit also includes a handy breakout board that can be used for file transfer between the FlashDisk module and another drive during system development. It can also be used to enable simultaneous operation of two drives with Prometheus. Both 40-pin and 44-pin connectors and cables are included to allow connection to any type of drives, including 3.5" hard drives, notebook drives, and CD-ROM drives. A complete cable kit is also included as an alternative to the panel board for situations where access to the CPU and its configuration jumpers is required during system development.
