Description

EPS-9600 family introduces a new level of price, performance, and size in rugged embedded Ethernet switches. The family is based on the Microchip LAN969x family, featuring high capacity and port count with 10G switching capability and Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) capability. The base model includes 8 1G copper ports and 2 SFP+ sockets supporting 10Gbps data rates. A daughter board connector on the bottom side supports expansion of additional 1G, 2.5G, and 10G ports using standard or custom daughter boards.

In accordance with Diamonds standard design philosophy, EPS-9600 is designed and built to serve rugged applications. All I/O connectors are latching for improved reliability, and all components as well as the entire board are rated for -40 to +85C operation. Both heat sink and heat spreader cooling options are available to support varying installation requirements. The PC104 mounting hole pattern provides compatibility with other industry products and facilitates installation in existing mechanical platforms.

To cover a broad range of customer needs, EPS-9600 is available in both a low-cost base model and a full-featured model with higher bandwidth and TSN support. Custom daughterboards are available by request.
